Adapting your message for Japan

Adapting your message for Japan

You may already know Japan well. The next question is how to present your business to the people you want to reach there.

  • Explain the offer in its new context

A familiar product or service in your home market may need more explanation in Japan. Make its purpose, benefits and conditions clear.

  • Give people reasons to trust you

Company details, relevant work and the scope of your service help visitors judge whether your business is right for them.

  • Adapt without losing your identity

The right amount of detail and tone depend on your audience and industry. A Japanese website does not have to be crowded or look like every competitor.

Information that supports an inquiry

Information that supports an inquiry

Make it easy to answer these questions before someone contacts you. The emphasis depends on your service and customers, rather than nationality alone.

  1. 01

    Who is behind the business?

Company information, the people involved and relevant experience.

  2. 02

Is this service right for me?

Who the service is for, what it includes and an indication of cost.

  3. 03

What happens after I get in touch?

How to inquire, which language to use and what to expect next.

Your Japanese digital partner

Your Japanese digital partner

I help turn your knowledge of Japan and your business into a website: natural Japanese copy, a clear structure and a practical route to inquiry.

Born and raised in Japan, I have more than 15 years of IT experience and have worked on more than 40 websites. I handle both design and development, so you can discuss the message and its implementation with the same person.

I am based in Germany and also run Kehl Japan, a local community around Japanese language and culture.
